The Scorpion Express ride at Chessington World of Adventures MTFX has redesigned the look and feel of a popular runaway train ride at Chessington World of Adventures Resorts in the UK.
Following a period of consultation with the design team at Chessington, the company implemented a bespoke flame system on the Scorpion Express ride at the park. Based on a tried and tested set up, the system featured trigger points, warning systems and firing times specific to the ride.
The idea was to give the new attraction an experiential ‘moment’ as the train moves around the track towards an old oil derrick built into the main structure of the ride. A variety of fire and water effects are used with the main feature being a soaring flame and heat.
MTFX’s flame system also has the capability to use the infrastructure of the park gas supply to increase flame duration and height output should the ride be modified in the future.
