The Spa Business Association (SpaBA) has recently completed one of the most comprehensive reports on the spa market in Great Britain and Ireland.
The Spa Industry Survey Report 2006 represents a detailed study of the largest pool of spas ever undertaken, including some of the industry's most influential operators.
The report, the result of independent research undertaken by Topaz Consulting, is claimed to be essential reading for all spa operators and those seeking to enter the market.
It provides detailed information across a number of different areas and deals with issues such as the most-up-to date mix of features: facility type; staffing issues and qualifications; products, treatments and services, plus attendances, income and expenditure.
SpaBA is the trade association for the spa industry in Great Britain and Ireland and has encouraged its members to participate in the research, the report providing a comprehensive series of benchmarks against which operators and new businesses can measure their own performance.
The 90-page report, sponsored by VisitBritain, was launched at the Professional Spa & Beauty exhibition at Excel at the beginning of March and is now available for general purchase at a cost of £350 with discounts available for SpaBA members.
