Zaun completes a hat trick

Supplier: Zaun Limited

More Zaun Limited details
Fencing company Zaun has recently completed work on three new sporting contracts across the UK.

Major development has been undertaken at Shrewsbury College in the shape of a new floodlit racetrack and athletics area and Zaun was asked to supply both fencing to enclose the track area and a handrail barrier to separate the track itself from the spectator area.

Zaun Duo6 fencing was chosen as it is a highly robust and aesthetically pleasing system. Following the perimeter of the track, it offers a good level of security and keeps trespassers away from the newly laid sports surface.

At the West Park tennis facility in Erewash, the company provided a solution to the problem of vandalism. The courts were developed as part of a £1.7m refurbishment, which included the renovation of pavilions and the upgrade of paths and lighting. The facility comprised four asphalt courts in a marquee, complete with lighting to enable them to be played on at any time of year, day or night.

Zaun's anticlimb Hi-Sec fencing was chosen to secure the premises, the 3m high fence using an extremely close mesh that offers no hand or foot hold and is thus virtually impossible to climb without using climbing equipment.

Finally, residents of the Talbot and Brunswick areas of Blackpool have been the beneficiaries of the UK's first sports barn. The concept combines the best features of indoor and out door play, all in an area that is safe and secure for young players. The Barn is all weather playable as it has a permanent solid roof, yet has all the benefits of playing out doors as Zaun fencing replaces the walls and so allows the players the benefit of fresh air.

The Barn will be used for football, basketball and a wide range of other activities including cricket, netball, athletics and tennis. Local residents will be able to use it on a casual basis and it will also provide facilities for local clubs, community groups and schools. The Barn will also play host to a wide range of organised coaching sessions for children and young people.
