The Therapyworks Franchise has chosen Keiser as their preferred fitness equipment supplier.
The brainchild of director and physiotherapist, Hywel Griffiths, the franchise company was created in July 2006 and designed to enable qualified physiotherapists to run their own practice with the support of experts in all aspects of business and clinical issues.
Griffiths explains: "The Therapyworks Franchise offers physiotherapists the opportunity to become part of a nationwide network of treatment and rehabilitation excellence centres.
"Within this structure we include ongoing management and training, financial planning assistance, preferred suppliers’ list, full integration with a centrally managed IT system, audit review and support with patient care.
The first franchise site was created four years ago in Pontypridd and includes treatment rooms, a lecture room and a gym.
Keiser’s Functional Trainer was added to the gym in April this year.
Commenting on the decision to use Keiser equipment, Griffiths said, “I have used the equipment extensively in my previous role of National Squad Physiotherapist to the Welsh Rugby squad, where it is used in rehabilitation for the athletes. The Functional Trainer is simply the most functional piece of equipment in the gym.
"With Keiser’s equipment we can 'unload' the client's joints using the air resistance medium and then put them into a truly functional position where they can work safely and effectively.
“We are now aiming to develop an assessment suite. To this end, we are hoping to use a combination of new assessment tools with the Functional Trainer to give more objective feedback on a client’s condition."
