TAC, the Austria-based spa software solutions specialist, has introduced the first mobile loyalty card for wellness and fitness operations.
The digital membership card replaces the familiar plastic and paper cards of the past.
Instead of applying and waiting for a customary membership card, guests simply download an app on their smart phone and use this to automatically register for the customer retention programme.
Every guest gets an individual bar code with which they check in whenever they visit the spa.
The card also allows the spa to get in contact with each guest personally via their mobile phones, by sending SMS messages with birthday wishes or individual offers for example.
TAC's new card offers another advantage:
"The app costs much less than plastic cards that can cost up to three euros per card, depending on the print", explained Thomas Roessler, managing director at TAC.
"Another bonus is that customers can easily forget or lose plastic cards, whereas they usually have their mobile phones with them."
Guests can also book spa treatments via their card. Shortly before the appointment, the spa sends an automatic reservation reminder via SMS and in this way avoids loss of sales caused by no-shows.
Following an appointment, the spa can send mobile surveys to their guests to find out how satisfied they were with the service.
The card also offers a shop finder that can show customers the way to the nearest spa.
